General Information:

  • This model was painted all "Cloud White," except for the black on the wraparound cowl. 
  • The serial numbers was on a plate riveted to the swivel bracket above and between the clamp screws..
  • Serial numbers 1476510 thru 1521913 were 1962 models.
  • Merc 450's were produced as Merc 450M (Manual Starting, Short Shaft), Merc 450ML (Manual Starting, Long Shaft), Merc 450S (Electric Starting, Short Shaft, without Alternator), as well as Merc 450SL (Electric Starting, Long Shaft, without Alternator).
