General Information:


  • 1956 engines are known to have been painted "Quicksilver Green" & "Sand Tan" and "Sunset Orange" & "Sand Tan." They were also produced in "Sarasota Blue" & "Sand Tan," and possibly were painted "Marlin Blue" & "Gulf Blue" as well.
  • 1957 engines were known to have been painted "Quicksilver Green" & "Sand Tan," "Sunset Orange" & "Sand Tan," and all "Charcoal."
  • 1958 engines are known to have been painted "Matador" & "Sand Tan," "Buckskin Beige" & "Sand Tan," "Sandalwood" & "Sand Tan," and "Burgundy" & "Sand Tan." They likely were also painted "Cavalry Brown" & "Sand Tan."
  • Model & serial numbers were on the instruction plate riveted to the swivel bracket above and between the clamp screws.
  • Serial numbers 956420 thru 1012949 were 1956 models.
  • 1042297 thru 1047296 were 1957 models.
  • 1036987 thru 1042296 and 1047298 thru 1051986 were 1958 models.
