• The serial number was on a plate riveted to the swivel bracket above and between the clamp screws.
• Serial numbers 1464949 thru 1503331 were 1962 models.
• Serial numbers 1503332 thru 1665001 were 1963 models.
• Merc 1000E Short Shaft, Electric Starting with Alternator and Merc 1000EL Long Shaft, Electric Starting with Alternator models were produced.
