General Information:
- 1957 models were produced in "Sunset Orange" & "Sand Tan," all "Charcoal" and in "Quicksilver Green" & "Sand Tan."
1958 models are known to have been painted "Matador" & "Sand Tan" and all "Charcoal". They are reported to have been painted a metallic brown (probably "Cavalry Brown") from top to bottom. Other colors are possible as well.
- Model & serial numbers were on the instruction plate riveted to the swivel bracket above and between the clamp screws..
- Serial numbers 1072997 thru 1106707 were 1957 models.
- 1106708 thru 1110599 were 1958 models.
- Mark 75E models are Short Shaft, Electric Starting with Alternator and were produced in 1957 & 1958..
- Mark 75EL Long Shaft, Electric Start with Alternator models were produced in 1957.
- This was the world's first six cylinder inline outboard motor.
- These engines do not have a gearshift mechanism. They use a special remote control that provides the ability to start the engine in gear, either forward or backward. (called Direct Reversing.)
